Youth Citizen Scientist Program

Our Youth Citizen Scientist Programs are for high school students who are interested in internships and other learning opportunities to help get a head start on their college careers for pre-health majors, or other allied fields, such as science, genomics, patient advocacy, bioinformatics, epidemiology, or biotechnology.

There are currently two tracks parents or teachers can choose for their students:

Youth Citizen Scientist –  For the Classroom
Youth Citizen Scientist – One-Day Internship

For the Classroom

Teachers who have already signed up to receive our Be Endo Empowered Health Kits can also sign their class up for an online supplemental Youth Citizen Scientist course, which includes an additional science and service learning curriculum for students interested in learning more about endometriosis, with the goal of sharpening their scientific critical thinking skills and participating in volunteer work for the Worldwide EndoMarch to meet any service learning requirements that students may need to fulfill.

One-Day Internship

Beginning this Fall 2018, high school students can apply for the Youth Citizen Scientist for the Cure One-Day Internship Program, which will be available at select locations in the San Francisco Bay Area. In this day internship, high school students will be able to shadow doctors in a clinical or research setting, to get a sense of what it’s like to work as a physician, physician assistant, medical assistant, or medical researcher. Students will receive a Certificate of Completion and other special opportunities for their participation. Just email us at info@endomarch.org, if you would like to pre-register your student or receive more information.

Teachers who are interested will also be able to sign their class up for our supplemental Youth Citizen Scientist program, which includes a science and service learning curriculum for students interested in learning more about endometriosis, while also getting a head start on college-prep for premed majors, or other science & health-related majors, such as genomics, patient advocacy, bioinformatics, epidemiology, and public health.
